ABOUT

My name is Ashley Matson. I am a freshman at Bloomsburg University. I am a Mid-Level Education Major with a concentration in math. I am currently training to become part of the U.S Army's National Guard. I believe teachers are a guidance not a boss. Teaching takes a lot of reflection, if the whole class failed a test then they didn't fail as a student, the teacher failed to do his or her job. I want there to be a point in my teaching career where my students guide the lesson, where we learn about what they are interested in, in order to keep them engaged in their own learning. Teachers are constantly learning and growing with their students in order to have proper instruction we must know how they learn and do the best we can to make sure everyone is learning in the way they need to fully understand the lessons.

A little insider about me!

HOBBIES

I'm a big supporter of the arts. I have been a part of the band since I was in 5th grade and continue to be apart of music even at the university level. My hope is to one day integrate the arts in everything I teach in order to keep a well rounded curriculum.

FAMILY

Family has always been my number one support throughout life. I definitely wouldn't be who I am without them. Missing from the photo is my oldest sister, her husband and my niece and nephew.

WHAT"S NEXT

I like to always be working toward a goal, as I become unmotivated and disinterested without one. Currently my future holds a place in the U.S. National Guard with dreams of one day becoming an officer in the active duty Army.
